Double Excitement at Ülkü Park

Round 3 of the Winter Cup, organised by Ülkü Motor Sporları Kulübü, was held at the İzmir Ülkü Park Race Track. After the briefing, the drivers took to the track for practice and qualifying.
The first race of Winter Cup Round 3 started with plenty of crashes and drama. Hüseyin Yıldırım and Emir Ay collided at the first corner of the opening race, and the rear right wheel came off Emir Ay's car, forcing a retirement. Nil Yemyeşil, the only female driver in the cup, went off the road in a big crash and could not finish the race. Çağlayan Çelik, one of the cup's title contenders, was caught up in an accident and then suffered a technical problem in the first race, and was unable to complete it. At the end of the day's first race, Cem Yudulmaz won the Super class with Hüseyin Yıldırım second, while in the Diesel class İhsan Pekayla was first, Efe Albağlar second and Hüseyin Çetmen third. In the Group 1600 class, Yakup Topgül won, ahead of Ersin Yücesan in second and Kaan Yüksel in third.
In the thrilling second race, Cem Yudulmaz put in a consistent drive to retain the Super class win and repeat his success. In the Diesel class, Mehmet Ali Köroğlu from Isparta won, Efe Albağlar held on to his first-race position in second, and Çağlayan Çelik finished third. In Group 1600, Yakup Topgül won again, with Kaan Yüksel second.
The Winter Cup continues with Round 4 at the İzmir Ülkü Park Race Track on 19 February.
The 2017 V2 Challenge season, organised by İzmir Ülkü Motorsport, added great excitement to January and kicked off with fierce competition at the İzmir Ülkü Park Race Track. In a race featuring drivers new to motorsport, the excitement exceeded all expectations. The drivers, who got used to the track in practice, battled hard in qualifying to gain an advantage.
Almost all of the 16 drivers were starting their motorsport careers, and the event produced great excitement and fierce competition. After a closely fought first race, Sami Bölükbaşı made a strong start to the season by taking the win, with Ersin Yücesan second and Murat Osman Özdemir third.
Under the format, the top eight points scorers from the first race started the second race in reverse order, and it turned into a storm of excitement. Emir Özkan, who started from second on the grid after the first race, took the lead. Murat Osman Özdemir, third in the first race, finished second, and İhsan Pekayla third.
V2 Challenge Round 2 will continue at the İzmir Ülkü Park Race Track on 12 February.
