FIRST DRIVER FOR FUSION E TEAM

Güven gained further mileage in the Porsche GEN4 development car during a test at the Andalucía circuit in Spain. Our national driver has become the first driver to be linked with the Fusion Formula E Team, which has not yet been officially confirmed or publicly announced.

The young driver first attracted attention in spring 2025 while carrying out simulator tests for the Porsche Formula E Team. His ability in the Weissach simulator, his instant grasp of energy-management techniques and his rapid adaptation were reported to have amazed team managers.

A TALENT THAT BREAKS THE MOULD

Ayhancan Güven's journey to Formula E has been long and complex, and his route is an unusual one, as drivers without a traditional single-seater background rarely reach the World Championship. In many respects, Güven has also changed the way Porsche develops its young drivers, having moved from GT cars to a top-level single-seater programme.

GÜVEN'S CAREER

The young driver's career began in karting in Turkey, and he was also a member of the sim racing team Coanda Esports. His rise proved very rapid. After winning back-to-back titles in the French Carrera Cup in 2019 and 2020, he became a Porsche junior driver at the end of 2020.

After narrowly finishing runner-up in the German Porsche Carrera Cup in 2021, he made two appearances in the German Touring Car Masters (DTM) with the Alpha Tauri team as part of the long-running Red Bull Türkiye agreement.

By 2023 he was a DTM driver, and he also won the Asian Le Mans Series LMP2 title with DKR Engineering. Alongside Porsche factory drivers Matt Campbell and Laurens Vanthoor, he won the Bathurst 12 Hour at his first attempt.

Two years later, he achieved the biggest success of his career by becoming DTM Champion in 2025 with a Porsche prepared by Manthey. At Hockenheim, he won the final race with a superb counter-attack, passing BMW's Marco Wittmann on the last lap in a victory that went down in DTM history.

We congratulate our young driver, who is also competing this season in major endurance championships such as the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC), and wish him continued success.
