Retro Rally Takes Visitors on a Journey Into the Past

The "Retro Rally 2017" exhibition, held at Maltepe Park Shopping Centre from 14-29 January and shedding light on the history of motorsport in Turkey, drew great interest from visitors as well as from the sport's veterans.

At the Retro Rally 2017 talk and autograph session held on Saturday 28 January, Murat Bostancı, Onur Vatansever, Orhan Avcıoğlu and Burçin Korkmaz of the Castrol Ford Team Türkiye signed cards prepared for them and presented them to motorsport fans. Champions from past eras who visited the exhibition, Serdar Bostancı, Ethem Genim and Can Ünlü, also took part in the talk, sharing their memories with visitors and posing for photographs.

Retro Rally 2017 presents to motorsport fans cars that competed in Turkey and on the international stage and won championship titles, along with the competition cars driven by Mustafa V. Koç, Renç Koçibey, İskender Atakan, Cem Hakko, Hasan Kalaycı, Berç Arhanyan, Cengiz Artam, Kemal Gamgam, Enis Özsaruhan, Volkan Işık, Demir Berberoğlu and Serdar Bostancı.

The exhibition also features event posters, time cards, pace notes, championship trophies, drivers' overalls, helmets, racing boots and gloves. Visitors touring the exhibition are transported back to those thrilling days through video footage of famous drivers and films on the history of Turkish motorsport.

Visitors to the event, organised by Ece Türkiye Project Management at Maltepe Park Shopping Centre, also had the chance to test their own driving skills on the rally simulator set up on site, enjoying a fun experience.

The Retro Rally 2017 exhibition will continue from 30 January to 12 February at Marmara Park shopping centre in Beylikdüzü, Istanbul. As part of the event, a talk and autograph session with champion drivers, together with a simulator competition with prizes, will take place on Saturday 4 February between 15:00 and 17:00.
