Important Development in Motorsport

At a time when all sporting events have been suspended because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and both our country and the world are going through difficult days, the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation has announced an important development on behalf of the country.
In the "Motorsport in the World" study commissioned by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) from Nielsen, one of the world's leading research companies, Turkey emerged as one of the standout countries for the growth of interest in motorsport.
2014-2019 was the period used as the basis for the study, in which Turkey made it into the top seven of the FIA's 144 member countries. It was announced that the return of the World Rally Championship to the country after an eight-year gap under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, the successful results achieved by young Turkish drivers on European circuits and the social responsibility projects carried out by TOSFED all played an important part in this result.
Speaking about the news, Turkish Automobile Sports Federation President Eren Üçlertoprağı said: "We offer our gratitude to our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has given great support to this important development, to our Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, and to all the state officials and sponsors who have contributed to our sport. We thank all the stakeholders of motorsport for this result, which has come about through the federation's management successes over the last five years, the international results achieved by our drivers and the quality of our events."
