Petlas Continues Its Support for Motorsport

PETLAS, the leading 100 per cent domestically owned tyre manufacturer in Turkey and part of Abdulkadir Özcan A.Ş. (AKO Group), the domestic powerhouse of Turkish industry, is continuing to back sport and social development with its responsible brand identity, alongside the investments that have made their mark on the sector. PETLAS is supporting the 2020 Turkish Off-road Championship as title sponsor. Organised by the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED), the PETLAS 2020 Turkish Off-road Championship consists of seven rounds between May and November, held in Antalya, Sinop, Ankara, Denizli, Sakarya, Karabük and Kahramanmaraş, and is among the most important motorsport events in the country. PETLAS, which exports to more than 110 countries as well as Turkey, produces high-quality tyres in 80 different patterns and 2,500 different sizes using domestic capital, domestic technology, domestic R&D and engineering, and a domestic workforce. PETLAS Sales Director Ahmet Candemir said: "Being part of off-road sport, where competitors battle not only each other but also varied natural and terrain conditions, excites us. The inspiration for our R&D work, in which we are the leader in Turkey, is our country's demanding terrain, road and weather conditions. With our R&D strength, we have carried out various collaborations with the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) as part of our PETLAS Motorsport department, which we launched last year, and our racing tyre development programme. Now we are proud to take this cooperation a step further, and to see the PETLAS 2020 Turkish Off-road Championship carry our name."
