Üçlertoprağı Announces Candidacy for TOSFED Presidency
The current management of the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED), which has been working under the presidency of Serkan Yazıcı since 2015, has announced that it is putting itself forward to lead the federation following Yazıcı's departure from office. Eren Üçlertoprağı, who has served successfully as Vice President for three and a half years, said that the current management team is ready to take over.
Üçlertoprağı, who has also served on the International Automobile Federation (FIA) World Motor Sport Council as its youngest member since 2017, announced that he will stand in the election to be held in Ankara on 28 February, saying: "Following the departure of our President Serkan Yazıcı, and with his valued support, we have put ourselves forward for the presidency with the same management team. Over the past three and a half years, through both our projects and the events we have organised, we have done successful work in bringing motorsport in Turkey to the place it deserves. In 2018 we successfully hosted the Turkish round of the World Rally Championship (WRC), which the whole world follows closely, in Marmaris. This year, from 12-15 September, we will once again welcome the world's fastest drivers to Marmaris."
Stressing that they want to carry on until the Ordinary General Assembly in 2020 by developing all the projects President Yazıcı brought to life and dreamed of, Eren Üçlertoprağı said: "Since coming into office, alongside the events we have placed great importance on young talent and the 'TOSFED Is Looking for a Star' project, and we are launching various projects for young people. Our greatest wish is to find young talents who will represent Turkey successfully on the international stage and to support them in every way. We also thank our esteemed President Serkan Yazıcı for supporting us along this path. It is a source of pride for us to have the support of someone as valuable as he is, and so devoted to motorsport. During the 1.5 years we will remain in office, and with the valued support of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, we want to launch projects that will contribute to the development of motorsport."
Who Is Eren Üçlertoprağı?
Having completed secondary school at the Austrian High School, Üçlertoprağı graduated from the Faculty of Law at Bilgi University. During his university years, out of a passion for motorsport, he first took up rallying as an amateur and then professionally. Having claimed wins and top results throughout his sporting career, Eren Üçlertoprağı ended his professional sporting life when he began his career.
He successfully completed a dual-concentration master's degree at Boston University School of Law in "International Banking, Finance and Securities Transactions". He began practising law in 2008. In 2015, together with his fellow founding partners, he established YYU Legal Law Office. Alongside his legal career, in 2015 he became the youngest Vice President of the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED). In 2017, he achieved the distinction of becoming the youngest member elected to the International Automobile Federation (FIA) World Motor Sport Council.
