TOSFED 2019 Calendar Announced
The competition calendar covering the national motorsport events to be held in 2019 has been announced on the official website of the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation. Following a number of date and venue changes in the rally, karting, hill climb and circuit racing disciplines, the draft calendar published on 31 December 2018 has now become official and come into force.
The 2019 season will open on 2-3 March with the first race of the Turkish Karting Championship at Tuzla Karting Park. With 45 national events organised across nine disciplines – 7 rally, 7 karting, 6 off-road, 6 hill climb, 5 circuit racing, 5 trial, 4 drifting, 4 classic car and a rallycross championship final – the season will end with round six of the Turkish Off-road Championship in Kahramanmaraş on 30 November-1 December.
The Eskişehir Rally, which is part of the FIA European Rally Trophy, will be run by the Eskişehir Automobile Sports Club on 14-16 June in the Eskişehir, Kütahya and Bilecik region, while the WRC-Rally Turkey, which returned to the World Rally Championship last year after an eight-year absence, will be organised in Marmaris, Muğla on 13-15 September. As last year, both events will award points towards the Turkish Rally Championship.
In addition, the TOSFED Is Looking for a Star project, organised by TOSFED with Fiat and Petlas sponsorship to discover young drivers under the age of 25, will continue in the 2019 season.
