A New Era at TOSFED Under Üçlertoprağı

The Extraordinary General Assembly of the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) was held in Ankara on Thursday 28 February.

Acting TOSFED President Eren Üçlertoprağı and Mehmet Besler stood as candidates, and Üçlertoprağı received 109 votes from 168 delegates to become TOSFED's youngest president. Former president Serkan Yazıcı was also named TOSFED Honorary President, following a proposal from the delegates that was accepted by the general assembly...
In his speech at the general assembly, President Üçlertoprağı began by thanking the delegates for sacrificing their work commitments to attend on a weekday. He noted that the federation, which they had taken over in a difficult situation in 2015, had been brought in a short time, through hard work, determination and resolve, to the point of hosting one of the world's biggest sporting events. "When we put ourselves forward for this role with our management team, we went through a thorough preparation process. We identified the shortcomings of our sport at that time, defined projects one by one, and put ourselves forward for this administration with realistic, grounded plans and projects. Over these 3.5 years, our management team has devoted its time and resources to our sport and will continue to do so. In the coming period, we will complete the projects we started with our president Serkan, and focus on developing sponsorships in order to bring additional financial resources and support to our federation," he said.
