Champion of Champions Offers Superb Prizes

The 'Champion of Champions' event, which will determine the fastest driver of the year in motorsport, is being held by the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) in Izmir on 18-19 March.

Staged at Ülkü Park Race Track with the support of Spor Toto, Opel Türkiye and Petlas, the event will begin on Saturday 18 March with qualifying between 10:00 and 15:00. At the end of qualifying, the 16 fastest drivers will earn the right to compete in the next day's eliminations. On Sunday 19 March, between 10:00 and 16:00, the eliminations and finals will be run in Opel Corsa OPC race cars, and the 2016 Champion of Champions will be decided.

Held for the first time in 15 years, the event will be enlivened by drifting displays from Apexmasters drift drivers and Ukrainian Red Bull athlete Alexander Grinchuk, motorcycle stunt shows from Birkan Polat, and demonstration runs by former champion drivers such as İskender Atakan, Cem Hakko, Volkan Işık and Serkan Yazıcı. In addition, 12 legendary rally cars will meet motorsport fans at the Retro Rally exhibition.

Serving as the 2017 motorsport season opener, the event can be watched free of charge, and lucky spectators chosen from the crowd will get the chance to experience the thrill by taking the passenger seat of the drift cars.

SUPERB PRIZES FOR THE CHAMPION
The driver who becomes Champion of Champions will, besides a specially designed championship trophy, receive prizes worth approximately 200,000 TL. The fastest driver of the year will win a car from Opel for daily use for one year, and a trip to a Formula 1 or WRC event in 2017 as a guest of Red Bull... They will also earn the right to enter a race in their own class in Europe, sponsored by TOSFED, along with a preceding test. The Champion of Champions will be able to compete in a rally in Europe in an R5 car, in a round of the World Rallycross Championship RX2 category in a SuperCar Lites, or in a Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux race in France.
