The Opel Corsa OPC Cup, organised jointly by Opel Türkiye and Safari Motorsport, gets under way on 31 July at Izmit Körfez Circuit.

Safari Motorsport, which has been running single-make cups in Turkey since 1994, is launching the Opel Corsa OPC Cup with the support of Opel Türkiye. The season-opening race at Izmit Körfez Circuit on 31 July will see 15 Corsa OPCs, specially tuned to 230 horsepower, go head to head. In the championship, ambitious and experienced drivers will battle fiercely for the podium.

Opel Türkiye General Manager Özcan Keklik said: "We are delighted to be working with Safari Motorsport on this event, which we believe reflects our brand's sporting heritage. The OPC series is truly special. The balance of performance, equipment and price is remarkable. The Corsa OPC is impressive proof of how our engineers have raised the bar in the small sports car segment. I am sure that, as well as in our own country, we will see adrenaline-filled racing at the rounds in Greece and Germany."

Safari Motorsport Director Hakan Dinç said: "We have been preparing for the Opel Corsa OPC Cup for six months, and as of today we are ready. I would like to thank Opel Türkiye in particular, along with our team and all our sponsors, and I wish everyone success for the season."
