Drivers Race in Memory of Yusuf Aramacı

TOSFED had decided that, across five rallies in the Turkish Rally Championship, local classifications would be run in four separate categories, and that the four drivers scoring the highest points in their categories across the Ford Otosan Kocaeli Rally, Yeşil Bursa Rally, Eskişehir Rally, Istanbul Rally and Festival Rally would be awarded the Yusuf Aramacı Cup.

Yeşil Bursa Rally, the second round of the Yusuf Aramacı Cup, saw 11 crews take part. At the end of the two-day rally, the category winners were Dinçer Akgün-Soner Çevik from Izmir in a Peugeot 106 GTI in Category 1, Ahmet Keskin-Tuğba Bora from Kocaeli in a Peugeot 205 GTI in Category 2, and Serdar Yalçın-Ersen Yıldız from Bursa in an Opel Astra G in Category 3.

WHO WAS YUSUF ARAMACI?
Yusuf Aramacı became Turkish Rally Champion in 1978 as co-driver to Ayhan Tokyay and went on to win countless honours. He later served many teams and competitors in circuit racing, rallying and Formula 3 at the ST Racing garage. Aramacı passed away on 1 June at the age of 58 following a heart attack, and was also active at events as a senior TOSFED official...
