Round four of the season in Lassa V1, Turkey's motorsport series, was held in Aydın on Sunday. Can Tolon won the race, watched by more than 8,000 people, for the third time in a row.

Cup leader and title contender Yağız Avcı failed to get the result he wanted in qualifying. A mechanical problem during the race then prevented the driver from progressing to the next round, leaving Avcı 13th and pointless on the day. Tolon had scored zero points in the previous race and fallen back in the fight at the top, but with Avcı failing to score in Aydın, the title battle has tightened again.

Dağhan Ünlüdoğan, who finished second, was one of the long-missed faces on the podium. Having struggled for results for some time, Ünlüdoğan marked a return to the season with second place on his birthday. Koray Muratoğlu, last year's third-placed finisher, had started this season strongly but had not been able to deliver on track. With third place in this race, Muratoğlu showed that he can still be a contender. Burak Çukurova was the other driver who did not have the race he wanted. Failing to make the final group after qualifying, Çukurova had to settle for fifth. Fourth place went to young driver Ayhancan Güven, who continued his rise this season. Özgür Gür won the Master Cup, while Ayhancan Güven took victory in the youth class.

The people of Aydın, who have embraced VOLKICAR since Lassa V1 began in 2011, were at the circuit again. More than 8,000 spectators turned Malazgirt Square into a sea of people despite the hot weather. Alongside the racing, the people of Aydın enjoyed the displays of a motorcycle show team that had travelled from abroad. Aydın Metropolitan Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu also greeted the crowd by putting on a show in a VOLKICAR specially prepared for her.

After the Aydın round, Yağız Avcı and Can Tolon share the lead of the standings on 57 points. Right behind them, title contender Burak Çukurova is on 56.

The next round of Lassa V1 will be held on Sunday 18 October at the İzmit Körfez circuit and will be broadcast live on NTVSpor.
