Excitement at Fever Pitch Ahead of the Finale

Round 5 of the Turkish Karting Championship was held by the Istanbul Karting and Automobile Club (İOSK) at Körfez Circuit on Saturday 3 October 2015. Berkay Besler in Formula Senior, Mehmet Yaman in Formula Masters and Zekai Özen in Mini finished the day as winners. Berk Durak, who won the day in the Rotax Max Challenge DD2 category, also secured the season title and earned the right to represent Turkey at the RMC Grand Final in Portugal.
In the Formula Senior category, Berkay Besler managed to win all three races of the day. Mert Dalkıran, the standout performer at the Uşak round, finished the day second with two second places, while Muratcan Eğilmez, with one second place and two thirds, took third on the day. Besler maintained his lead in the championship standings, with Dalkıran remaining second.
In the Formula Masters category, Mehmet Yaman won all three races to take the day's win and moved into the overall lead. Süleyman Kolot, second in two races, finished the day second, while İbrahim Erkan, second in one race, finished third. Ahead of the season finale, Mehmet Yaman moved into the lead of the championship standings, with Süleyman Kolot dropping back to second, but just 7 points separate the pair.
In the Mini category, there was a tight fight between seven drivers. Zekai Özen won the first two races and Pars Erdem won the last. Ömer Asaf Kolot also put up a strong challenge against the two. At the end of the day, Zekai Özen was first, Pars Erdem second and Ömer Asaf Kolot third. In the standings, Pars Erdem maintained his lead, followed by Özen and Kolot.
In the Rotax Max Challenge DD2 category, Berk Durak won all three races, taking both the day's win and the overall season title. In DD2, Gülhüseyn Adbullayev finished the day second with two second places and one third. Kerem Zengin, with one second place and two thirds, was third on the day. After these results, in the DD2 Masters category Kerem Zengin moved 3 points ahead of Mehmet Çınar and took the lead in the classification. Güney Altuner, the only entrant in the Teşvik category at this round, raced sportingly and secured the RMC Teşvik season title with the points he collected.
The 6th and final round of the Turkish Karting Championship will be held at Körfez Circuit on 17-18 October.
