The third race of the Lassa V1 season will take place on Sunday 30 August at the Izmir Ülkü Circuit. 22 VOLKICAR drivers will take part in what promises to be a highly competitive and hard-fought event.

TOLON AND AVCI SHARE THE LEAD

After the first two races of the season, a battle for the lead is under way at the top. Izmir driver Can Tolon, champion for the last two years, and Yağız Avcı, also a former V1 champion, are level on points. Every remaining race in the six-race season is of great importance. Can Tolon wants to take an advantage by winning at home in Izmir, while Yağız Avcı wants to be the one who edges ahead in the fight. Other drivers set to challenge at the top – Burak Çukurova, Göksun Erkek and Özgür Gür – will take the start with the aim of reaching the podium.

YOUNG DRIVERS CHALLENGE AT THE TOP

Avcı and Tolon share the lead on 37 points, with Burak Çukurova second on 28 points. 17-year-old young talent Toprak Candan leads the youth classification on 24 points, and is also drawing attention in fourth place overall. Ayhancan Güven, Ali Türkkan and Kadir Akça, who began in Lassa V1 this year and are competing in the youth classification, have now warmed up to the VOLKICAR and the Lassa V1 battle. They are expected to be stronger in this race. TV actor Ümit Erdim, who had hearts in mouths with a roll at the start of the previous Izmir Park race of the season, wants to put that behind him this time.

IZMIR PARK IS NO STRANGER TO LASSA V1 COMPETITION

The Izmir Ülkü Race Circuit has hosted V1 races since 2011. The circuit, where VOLKICAR races are held in its 1,550-metre configuration, is also home to Izmir's motorsport fans. Entry is free, and the circuit will open its doors to spectators from 10:00 in the morning.

NTV SPOR LIVE BROADCAST ON SUNDAY AT 15:00

After qualifying at 12:30 at the Izmir Ülkü Race Circuit, racing will begin at 15:00 and will be broadcast live on NTV SPOR. In addition to the overall classification, the excitement will continue in the Youth Cup and in the Master Cup, in which drivers aged over 40 compete. In Lassa V1, the winning driver will receive 10,000 TL, the runner-up 4,000 TL and the third-placed driver 2,000 TL.
