Tough Rally in Kemer

The Antalya Kemer Rally, the fifth round and first gravel event of the TOSFED Rally Cup, was held in Kemer, Antalya, on 1-2 November. Organised by the Antalya Motorsports Club, known as AMK, with the support of Kemer Municipality, the event was run over a 154km route with 20 crews taking part.
The rally began with a ceremonial start in front of Kemer Municipality on Saturday evening, 1 November. From Sunday morning the crews faced a tough battle, both against the conditions and against each other.
In Category 1, Istanbul's Gürkal Menderes-Metin Filiz crew, driving a Lada Samara, took the class win, while Cumhur Önder-Hakan Solay, also from Istanbul, finished second in a Citroen Saxo VTS and the Vehbi-Sonay Usluoğlu pairing from the same region took third in a Peugeot 106 GTI.
In Category 2, the only crew to reach the finish was Istanbul's Kutlu Demiriz-Erman Akgün, who took the class win in a Fiat Palio.
In Category 3, Hakan Ertarman-Yunus Emre Bol from Bursa finished first in a Renault Clio Ragnotti, with Yaşar Abay-Aykut Bilir from Istanbul second in a Ford Fiesta ST and the brothers Tansel Karasu-Yüksel Karasu from Kocaeli third in a Peugeot 206 RC.
In Category 4, the experienced Yüksel Özgür-Sevilay Genç took the class win in a Citroen C2 R2, Akın Bilgütay-Çiğdem Bayülgen from Istanbul finished second in a Fiat Palio, and Yiğit Yalçın-Aydoğan Mehmet Savcıer from Bursa took third on the podium in an Opel Astra GSI.
In the Category 5 classification, Istanbul's Murat Güray-Hürol Menderes crew secured the win in a Renault Clio RS, while Osman Karaosman-Serdar Yalçın from Bursa took second in an Opel Astra G.
The TOSFED Rally Cup will come to a close with the final round, organised by the Eskişehir Automobile Sports Club (ESOK) in Şile, Istanbul, on 22-23 November.
