First Rally Experience for Women

The Women's Commission (TOSK), established within TOSFED to increase women's participation in every area of motorsport in Turkey and enable them to play a more active role, is inviting all women to the sport with its first project, "First Step to Racing".

The selection of the women drivers who will take the wheel of the '000' course car at the Bosphorus Rally, the oldest motorsport event on the European Rally Cup calendar, to be held in Istanbul on 24-26 July 2015, will be open to women aged 20-30 who have never competed before, hold no competition licence and are citizens of the Republic of Turkey or the TRNC.

In the selection process, which requires a driving licence held for at least two years, applications must be submitted by 10 July. After they have been assessed by TOSK members, participants will be invited to the slalom eliminations. The slalom eliminations will take place on Tuesday 21 July at the Pendik Sahil Yolu Pazar Yeri, after which the 10 most successful candidates will go through to an interview on Wednesday 22 July with TOSK members and TOSFED officials, who will pick four finalists. The four successful candidates will receive theoretical and practical training on 23-24 July, then experience the thrill of competition behind the wheel of the '000' course car, each alongside an experienced co-driver, at the Bosphorus Rally, our only international rally event, on 25-26 July.
