The 2nd Otonomi Rally, organised by Otonomi, which will be Europe's largest "automotive life centre", will take place in Ankara on 13-14 June. The top three finishers in the event will receive trophies and various prizes.

The first classic car rally held in Ankara took place last year on 24-25 May with 30 crews. In the event, well-known TV and advertising figure Ümit Erdim and Turkish women's rally driver champion Simin Bıçakcıoğlu led the field as the opening car.

The overall win went to Akın Demirağ-Ece Demirağ, who travelled from the TRNC in a 1980 Porsche 911 SC. Turan Demirer-Pamir Ozantürk took second in a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle, with Merve Aktepe-Önder Oflaz third in a 1976 Chevrolet Nova. The trophies and prizes for the crews who shared the top three places in the overall classification and in the categories were presented by Otonomi Chairman Aydın Erkoç, Deputy Chairman Niyazi Bertaş, Clerk of the Course Meriç Demiralp and officials from the Turkish Motorsport Federation.

OTONOMİ COUNTS DOWN TO OPENING

Construction began in 2013 on a 375,000 square metre site on the Esenboğa road, and the project, brought to life under the leadership of the Capital Automotive Dealers Association, is expected to open its doors in September. Set to be Europe's largest automotive shopping village, Otonomi will be a complete "Automotive Life Centre", with business premises and every kind of social facility. Otonomi will be able to welcome 11,000 visitors a day and display 12,000 vehicles at the same time. Those wanting to buy a new or second-hand vehicle will be able to find any model they are looking for at Otonomi.
