Turkish national driver Kaan Önder, who competes in the Audi Sport TT Cup, returned with points from round four of the season at Germany's Oschersleben circuit.

The 18-year-old finished Friday's free practice sessions in ninth place. In qualifying, which began three hours late on Saturday morning because of heavy fog, Kaan earned a start from 15th for the first race and from eighth for the second. In race one Kaan got through the first-corner traffic well, then worked up the order to take the chequered flag in 10th place among the championship drivers.

Kaan also made a very good start in the second race and moved up the order early on with a quick pace and some strong passes, but a gearbox problem forced a retirement after six laps. Kaan's next races will take place at the Nürburgring on 26 and 27 September.

After the racing, Kaan Önder said: "Because I started the first race from 15th rather than from the front as I wanted, it was very important to get out of the chaos of the first corner. It was a really interesting race, but I wasn't affected too much and I moved up the order. I also started the second race on Sunday really well and my pace on the new tyres was very good. I could have gone further forward from the position I was in. It's really disappointing that I had to retire on lap six because of the gearbox failure. My pace was very good throughout the weekend. I'm continuing to improve, and we've made significant progress especially in tyre optimisation, but unfortunately because of the technical failure I didn't score the points that would have shown it."
