Galip Atar Suffers Unlucky Start at Monza

In the opening Ferrari Challenge Europe race at Monza, Turkish driver Galip Atar had an unlucky start after his car took a hit.
Atar avoided the crash at the first corner of the opening lap, but was then struck by an Italian rival under the waved yellow flag on the same lap. With heavy damage to the left rear wheel, Atar struggled back to the pits and, despite the mechanics' intensive efforts, lost 17 minutes. Rejoining the race in last place and continuing with compromised set-up, the driver completed the race at a low pace in order to get used to Monza, which was a first visit to the circuit.
Sunday's second race will complete the opening round of Ferrari Challenge Europe. Galip Atar will fight to represent Turkey in the best possible way by finishing near the front in the Ferrari Challenge 458 EVO, a car the driver has adapted to quickly despite racing it for the first time.
