Team Türkiye Returns from France with a Silver Medal
The 2022 FIA Motorsport Games, in which 463 competitors from 72 countries contested 16 disciplines, took place in Marseille, France, from 27-30 October. 
Supported by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Youth and Sports, Spor Toto, Zipcar Türkiye and Puma Türkiye, the Turkish national team also represented the country with 10 competitors in eight different disciplines. 
Competing for 'Team Türkiye' in the Rally4 category in a Ford Fiesta Rally4 prepared by Teknik Motorspor, Ali Türkkan-Burak Erdener finished the rally in second place to win the silver medal. Türkkan, who was the 2021 FIA European Rally Cup and FIA Balkan Rally Cup Junior and 2WD champion, achieved his first national team success alongside Burak Erdener. 
In the Rally2 category, Orhan Avcıoğlu-Burçin Korkmaz, this year's Shell Helix Turkish Rally Champions, competed in a Skoda Fabia R5 prepared by Toksport WRT and finished the rally in fourth place. 
In GT Sprint, Ayhancan Güven, who raced a Porsche 911 GT3 prepared by Toksport WRT, finished fifth despite suffering damage to the car after contact from a rival. 
In the Karting Sprint Junior category, which featured 31 competitors, 12-year-old national team driver Alp Aksoy left more experienced rivals behind to finish the final in eighth place. 
In Cross Car, driving the machinery for the first time, 14-year-old Can Alakoç in the Junior class and 17-year-old Kerem Kazaz in the Senior class both competed strongly against experienced rivals and finished tenth. 
Representing the country in the esports category, which featured 57 competitors, Ulaş Özyıldırım dropped to last place in the semi-final after contact from a rival, but progressed to the final and finished seventeenth.
Our drifting representative Timur Pomak, driving a BMW E92 prepared by MTG Motorsport and carrying TurkMotorspor logos, was eliminated in qualifying.
TOSFED President Eren Üçlertoprağı noted that this was the first time Türkiye had been represented abroad in motorsport by such a large squad, saying: "As a result of the momentum motorsport has gained recently, we achieved strong results at the FIA Motorsport Games, where we took part as a national team for the first time in eight different disciplines, with our representatives who compete in the international arena. First of all, we would like to thank those who supported Team Türkiye, above all the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Spor Toto Organisation Presidency, as well as our sponsors Zipcar Türkiye and Puma Türkiye, our competitors, their families, our team managers, mechanics, members of the press, board members and officials. We also extend our gratitude to our Ambassador in Paris, Ali Onaner, and our Consul General in Marseille, Arda Ulutaş, who did not leave our team alone throughout the event."
