Positive Development for Formula 1

Important steps are being taken for Formula 1, which said farewell to Turkey in 2011, to return in 2018. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Formula 1's new CEO Chase Carey in his office.
The meeting, which was closed to the press, was also attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Akif Çağatay Kılıç, Presidential Spokesman İbrahim Kalın, TOSFED President Serkan Yazıcı and Intercity Istanbul Park Chairman of the Board Ali Vural Ak.
Broadcast live in 130 countries, Formula 1 racing is one of the most widely followed sports in the world. The promotional benefit it brings to the host country is known to be worth millions of dollars. Formula 1's management, which changed hands this year, passed to the American Liberty Media. Following this change, steps have begun to be taken to take Formula 1 to a better place.
After a number of sporting changes, Chasey Carey has taken the first step towards bringing the races back to Intercity Istanbul Park, a venue much loved by Formula 1 drivers and fans alike. No statement has yet been made following the meeting, but we should soon be in a position to announce developments regarding Formula 1's return to Turkey.
