Berkay Makes Fast Start in TPŞ

Round 4 of the 2017 Turkish Circuit Racing Championship was held at the İzmir Ülkü Park circuit on 28-29 October.
Berkay Besler, the 18-year-old national karting driver who moved into cars this season by competing in the Renault Clio Cup Italy series, made his first start in the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship in İzmir at the weekend, driving a Seat Leon TCR for Toksport WRT with the support of DYO Boyaları.
Berkay won Sunday's second race, with Çağlayan Çelik second in another Seat Leon TCR for Toksport WRT, while Ali Türkkan took third in a BMW 320.
Besler said the driver set very quick times in pre-race practice and adapted quickly to the new Seat Leon TCR, and that although qualifying did not deliver the desired result, they put up a good fight for the lead in Saturday's first race. "We finished the first race of the weekend in third, but in line with the regulations, our team's cars were disqualified after the race. By winning the second race on Sunday and taking the top two places as a team, we proved that the result in the first race was no coincidence." Berkay will look for success in the Seat Leon TCR again in the fifth and final round of the 2017 Turkish Circuit Racing Championship season, to be held on 25-26 November.
