Celebratory Atmosphere at Corsa Cup
The Opel Corsa OPC Cup, organised by Safari Motorsport with the support of Opel Türkiye, Petlas, Fakir Hausgerate, PWR Balata, CMS, Autoclub Türkiye and Siesta, visited İzmir Ülkü Park for Round 4. With the race weekend coinciding with 29 October Republic Day, the circuit was treated to colourful scenes.
Cup leader Ekrem Vardar set the fastest time in qualifying with a 1:05.415 and went on to win the first race. Ümit Ülkü took second with a very strong performance, while Vardar's closest challenger in the cup, Alkan Güven, claimed the third-place trophy.
Under the format, the first six finishers of the opening race start the second race in reverse order, and Turgut Konukoğlu started from the front. Konukoğlu led for a long time but could not hold off the attacks of second-placed Alkan Güven and lost the lead. Alkan Güven won the race, with Turgut Konukoğlu finishing second. Ümit Ülkü took the third-place trophy and picked up valuable points in the cup.
