Born in 1999, young national driver Berkay Besler, who finished 135 national and international races on the podium during a 10-year karting career, is preparing to get behind the wheel in the Renault Clio Cup Italia series this weekend.
Having moved from karting to circuit racing with cars this year, Besler will take part in the third car event of the career at the Misano circuit in Italy on 15-16 July. Besler, competing with the backing of DYO, CMS and Coşkunöz Holding, said feeling ready for the race.
Noting that the pace and rhythm in the Clio Sport came together particularly in the Monza race, Besler said the experience gained in the first two races would help in giving it everything this weekend, adding: "I want to take my first podium in my car racing career at Misano."
