Three Turkish Drivers on the Podium in Belgium

Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport drivers Aytaç Biter and İbrahim Okyay, together with Ülkü Motorsport drivers Ümit Ülkü and Galip Atar, were at Belgium's Zolder circuit for Round 5 of the European Touring Car Cup (ETCC). The drivers, who lined up on the grid for the races held on 19-20 September, returned home with a major triumph.

Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport took the top step of the podium in the TC2T class with Aytaç Biter at the wheel of the BMW 320TC, raising the Turkish flag and having the Turkish national anthem played in Belgium. İbrahim Okyay, competing in the TC2 class, claimed a third-place trophy, giving the team its 11th trophy of the season.

Ülkü Motorsport's Ümit Ülkü won the second race in the TCT2 class, but missed out on the podium after leaving the first race without points. Galip Atar, who finished fourth in the first race and second in the second, became the third Turkish driver to take a trophy on the podium in this class. Turkey also raised its points tally to 148 and remained third in the nations' standings among 11 countries…

The European Touring Car Cup season will conclude with the sixth and final round at Italy's Pergusa circuit on 10-11 October.
