Berkay Besler Wins CEE Rotax Max Challenge

Turkish karting driver Berkay Besler has added another international success to his record. Berkay lifted the trophy after the final race of the CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) Rotax Max Challenge in Hungary, bringing yet another proud moment to Turkey.
Competing in three different series this season, Berkay Besler produced strong performances and posted good results in the Rotax Max Euro Challenge, one of the world's toughest karting series, but bad luck cost the title he was chasing. Declaring "this time I will be champion and that's what I'm going for" ahead of the Hungarian round of the CEE Rotax Max Challenge, he followed a smart race strategy. Holding an advantage thanks to the points he had collected in the previous four races, Turkey's representative kept his pace in the semi-final at the Pannonia-Ring circuit and finished sixth.
In the final, Berkay needed only a fifth-place finish. Aware of this, the young talent avoided taking risks, raced at the pace he had set and took the chequered flag in fourth, becoming the 2015 CEE Rotax Max Challenge Senior class champion with 336 points. Austria's Niki Kresse took second place in the standings with 335 points, while another Austrian, Daniel Machacek, finished third with 322 points.
With three consecutive Turkish championships, two world third-place finishes and two Champion-Kart International Final wins already behind him, Berkay Besler has now added a CEE Rotax Max Challenge title to his career. He said: "I'm so happy to have brought such a success to my country and to have been able to hear our national anthem played again on the international stage"…
