Ayhancan Güven Wins 2016 Champion of Champions Title

Since 2004, 19-year-old Ayhancan Güven has taken countless podiums in a long list of national and international series, including the Turkish Mini Karting Championship, the South-East European Karting Championship, the WSK World Karting Championship, the Italian Karting Championship and the FIA European Karting Championship. As the 2016 Champion of Champions, the young driver proved right everyone who had backed them.

Supported by a group of arabalisozluk.com writers who travelled from Istanbul with a "Bam Bam Bam Ayhancan" banner, the young driver beat rival Can Tolon 2-1 in the final, broadcast live on NTVSPOR, to claim the title.

The young national driver started karting at just six years old and moved into car racing for the first time in 2016, competing in the Porsche Sports Cup for TOKSPORT WRT. In that first season, Güven won two of the four races started, catching the attention of the sport's authorities, and is now preparing to compete in the Porsche Carrera Cup in 2017.
After the final, Güven shared their feelings: "Everyone needed a weekend this good for Turkish motorsport. Many thanks to everyone who worked on the organisation, above all the management of the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation. To take this result among so many important and experienced drivers, on a final day when I didn't perform especially well, is a truly wonderful feeling... As the 2016 Champion of Champions, I've added another fine link to my career. At the same time, this title gives us the best possible start to the 2017 season. Now we have a tough season ahead and it's time to focus on that..."
