Petlas Makes Racing Circuit Debut

A first has been witnessed at the Champion of Champions, held by the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) for the first time in 15 years... Petlas, Turkey's only 100% domestic tyre brand, took to the racing circuits for the first time and won the approval of the champion drivers with its outstanding performance in a demanding race.

TOSFED President Serkan Yazıcı noted that Petlas, Turkey's only domestic tyre brand, was on the racing circuits for the first time at the Champion of Champions, saying: "There was tremendous excitement at the Champion of Champions. We formed a productive partnership with Petlas at this event. We were proud to see our only domestic tyre brand on the racing circuits. It is truly gratifying that tyres taking to the track for the first time came through such a big race successfully. We plan to carry out successful work with Petlas in the coming period as well. As TOSFED, we hope Petlas will be successful in world racing too."

"PETLAS COULD BECOME A WORLD-CLASS RACING TYRE MANUFACTURER"

Assessing Petlas's performance on the racing circuit, Champion of Champions winner Ayhancan Güven said he found Petlas's Velox Sport PT741 tyre impressive. Champion driver Güven said: "Petlas, Turkey's only domestic brand, should make more appearances in these big races. Petlas could develop the Velox Sport PT741 tyre we used in this race further, to the point where it can be used worldwide, and could even become a world-class racing tyre manufacturer. As Turkish drivers, it is very valuable to us, especially in international races, to be represented by our country's domestic tyre brands..."

Emphasising that motorsport in Turkey is developing further with each passing day, champion driver Ümit Ülkü also gave the following assessment of Petlas's presence in motorsport: "Until now we couldn't see our domestic brand Petlas on the circuits. It is pleasing for us that a 100% domestic brand like Petlas supported the Champion of Champions and was on track. As competitors, we are also proud to use a domestic brand. Petlas's tyre ran without problems on its first outing on a racing circuit, and I am sure Petlas will reach a much better point with its racing tyres."
