Ayhancan Makes Fast Start to Season

Turkish driver Ayhancan Güven, 21, took to the Nogaro circuit in France on 21-22 April for the opening round of the new Porsche Carrera Cup France season, the series in which he won the title last year. T.C. Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığı, Spor Toto and the Türkiye Otomobil Sporları Federasyonu support Güven, who races for the Martinet by Almeras team. He made a fast start to the season in the opening round of the championship, finishing second in the first race and winning the second. Güven, in his car carrying Türkiye logos, raised the Turkish flag at Nogaro and once again had the national anthem played on the podium. Ayhancan will head to the Barcelona circuit for the first race of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup on 10-12 May, having set the fastest time ahead of all his rivals at the official pre-season test held there on 16 April. Run since 1992 as a support series ahead of FIA Formula 1 World Championship races, the championship stands out as the most competitive single-make series in the world.
