Drifting Season Kicks Off in Istanbul

The opening round of the 2019 Apex Masters Turkish Drift Championship will be held by the Drift Otomobil Sporları Kulübü on Sunday 28 April at Istanbul Atatürk Olympic Stadium. Staged with the support of PWR Balata, RedBull.com, Motul, Spor Toto and Power FM, the event is set to deliver its usual share of thrilling moments.
The first drifting event of the season begins on Saturday 27 April with administrative and technical scrutineering, followed by practice and qualifying runs on the same day. At the end of qualifying, the "top 16" will be determined, and they will compete in head-to-head battles on Sunday.
The door-to-door fight between local and foreign competitors in cars with up to 700 horsepower will start on Sunday 28 April with practice runs at 10:00, continuing with a driver presentation and autograph session at 12:00. From 13:00, the drivers will try to get the better of each other in head-to-head battles, giving spectators breathtaking, adrenaline-filled moments.
Through a Drift Taxi prize draw run on the Apex Masters Instagram account on the same day, lucky spectators will get to experience the thrill of drifting in the passenger seat of the race cars.
