Turkish Drivers Take Double Class Runner-Up at the 24 Hours

Our drivers left Germany's famous Nürburgring circuit with strong results from the 50th running of the traditional ADAC 24 Hours Nürburgring. In an event featuring 138 cars and 552 drivers, the crews battled non-stop for 24 hours on the 26km circuit. Turkish Drivers Take Double Class Runner-Up at the 24 HoursLast year's SP8T class winner Mustafa Mehmet Kaya returned to the race for Black Falcon, this time at the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup alongside Gabriele Piana, Ben Bünnagel and Mike Stursberg. Kaya and his team finished this demanding race 16th overall and second in the Cup 2 class, once again standing on the podium.

Turkish Drivers Take Double Class Runner-Up at the 24 HoursNational team driver Ersin Yücesan, competing in the SP10 class with a BMW M4 GT4, was joined in the race by Belgium-based Turkish drivers Recep Sarı and Hakan Sarı. Completing 88 laps and 2,270km behind the wheel, Yücesan and his team-mates finished 39th overall and fourth in SP10. Turkish Drivers Take Double Class Runner-Up at the 24 HoursAnother Turkish representative, Emir Aşarı, competed in the SP3T class for Max Kruse Racing in a Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR. The crew, made up of Andrew Engelmann, Jasmin Preisig and Gustavo Xavier, went off the track overnight after being hit by another competitor. After the pit crew quickly repaired the damaged car, the team rejoined the race and, although they dropped as low as 53rd overall, they went on to finish second in SP3T. Turkish Drivers Take Double Class Runner-Up at the 24 HoursOur national team driver Ayhancan Güven, also representing Turkey in the race, took part in the event for the first time, driving a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup for Frikadelli Racing in the Cup 2 class. Having produced a very strong race, Güven retired overnight while lapping a slow car. After the race, Güven said the whole team had done a fantastic job and that valuable experience had been gained, adding: "I will come back next year to conquer this tough race."
