Rally Raid Team Turkey Returns Successfully

The opening round of the Eastern European Baja Cup, Rally Greece Offroad, was held from 26-29 May with 63 crews from 15 different countries taking part. Seven crews from Turkey were among the entries, and competing for Rally Raid Team Turkey, Mert Becce-Sertaç Tatar won the TH class, while İsrafil Akyüz-Timur Sancak took third in the SSV class and Barbaros Yangın-Ejder Erişti finished fifth. Over the demanding 983-kilometre event, the Bener Baş-Yavuz Türkmen crew also saw the chequered flag, finishing third in the TH2 class. The other Turkish representatives, Eylem Tekin-Armağan Altun (electrical problems), Saim Tekin-Polat Emsen and Erkan Birinci-Ali Doğaner (mechanical problems), were unable to complete the event.
