Record and Double Podium at Zandvoort

Round three of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux took place at the Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands on 8-10 June. On a weekend that also hosted Porsche's 70th anniversary celebrations, TOSFED and Spor Toto-backed national driver Ayhancan Güven took pole position in qualifying for the first race of round three and went on to win the race from the front.
In qualifying for Sunday's second race, Güven set a time of 1:39.923 to become the first Cup car driver to lap the Zandvoort circuit in under 100 seconds, breaking the record, and started this race from pole as well. Güven dropped one place at the start but took the chequered flag in second, completing the weekend with a double podium.
Another of our national drivers, Berkay Besler, who has started competing in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux this season with Toksport WRT, finished fourth in both races over the weekend, continuing his rise.
After this event, Ayhancan Güven remains the leader of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux standings with a 14-point advantage. He will next be at the Dijon circuit on 14-15 July for round three of the Porsche Carrera Cup France.
