Experience Pays Off at Körfez

The second round of the PWR Apex Masters Turkish Drifting Championship, organised by the Drift Automobile Sports Club, was held on 9-10 June at the TOSFED Körfez Race Track.
Headline-sponsored by PWR Balata and supported by Spor Toto, RedBull.com, Power FM, Motul and Strong Tuning, the event saw powerful cars go side by side in smoky battles in front of a big crowd. The breathless head-to-head battles thrilled spectators on Körfez's tight, sharp corners, and around 3,500 fans enjoyed an adrenaline-filled visual spectacle…
At the end of Saturday's qualifying, the day's top qualifier, with 96.3 points, was Mert Bilaloğlu of DM Works D'Team, last year's Turkish champion. Ali İnal of Alias Racing Team was second, with young independent driver Levent Enön third.
On Sunday, after the practice runs, the traditional meet-the-drivers session and paddock visit again drew great interest. Spectators then took their places in the stands to follow the smoky battles of the 16 fastest drivers with excitement. In the final, Bilaloğlu took on Enön and lifted the winner's trophy in his BMW E36 325. Enön took second in his Mercedes W123, while third place went to Doruk Engin, one of the championship's newest drivers, in a Nissan 200 SX.
Lucky spectators shared the thrill from the passenger seats of the drift cars, and at the ceremony held at the end of the event the top finishers received their awards from TOSFED President Serkan Yazıcı and Drift Club President Burak Ünal.
The third round of the 2018 PWR Apex Masters Turkish Drifting Championship will take place on 29-30 September at the Kadir Has Stadium car park in Kayseri.
