Star Hopefuls Take to the Track

The TOSFED Is Looking for a Star social responsibility project, organised by the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) in cooperation with FIAT, is being held for the fifth time this year.
Aimed at introducing young people aged 28 and under who hold a driving licence to motorsport, and limited to 600 participants, the project's selection rounds will take place at the TOSFED Körfez Racing Circuit. The selections will be held in two separate groups, on 21-22-23-24 June and 16-17-18-19 August, with registration for the first group open from 22 May to 12 June and registration for the second group from 3 July to 31 July.
After theory training, all participants will race against the clock in Fiat Egea race cars in the selection rounds. Following advanced training and the final selections on 14-15 September, the fastest 10 male and 4 female drivers will get the chance to compete, free of charge, in Fiat Egea race cars in the three-race 2023 TOSFED Is Looking for a Star series.
This year, a special category has also been created for applicants from the provinces of Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Adıyaman, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Adana, Kilis, Malatya, Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa and Elazığ, which were declared disaster zones after the earthquakes of 6 February 2023. A total quota of 50 places has been set aside in this category, 25 for the first selection and 25 for the second, and TOSFED will cover these candidates' travel, accommodation and participation fees.
TOSFED President Eren Üçlertoprağı said: "Our social responsibility project TOSFED Is Looking for a Star, through which, with FIAT's support, we have introduced more than 1,700 young drivers to motorsport to date, is being held this year too, with a wider scope. With the selections, to which we invite all self-confident young people, we will continue to bring new talent into our sport. In addition, this year we will ensure that 50 young people from the earthquake zone can take part in this project free of charge, with all their expenses covered."
