Çukurova Rises to Championship Lead

The second round of the Petrol Ofisi Maxima 2023 Turkish Rally Championship, the Beydağ Int Yapı 47th Yeşil Bursa Rally, was organised by BOSSEK on 19-21 May with the support of ICRYPEX, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, aloft Hotel Bursa, İnallar and Özhan.
Crews fought over 10 special stages on a 470km asphalt route across two days, and the overall winners were Burak Çukurova-Burak Akçay of BC Vision Motorsport, who also took the Class 2 win.
Ümit Can Özdemir-Batuhan Memişyazıcı of GP Garage My Team finished second, while Ali Türkkan-Burak Erdener of Castrol Ford Team Türkiye took third overall as well as victory in Class 3.
Rain showers on the second day made life difficult for the crews at times, and Castrol Ford Team Türkiye won the Manufacturers' award, with BC Vision Motorsport winning the Teams' award.
In the Masters category, introduced this year, Uğur Soylu of GP Garage My Team came out on top, while Red Bull athlete Ali Türkkan won the Young Drivers' award and Begüm Uludağ, who competed alongside Sevgi Aktürk, took the Young Co-drivers' award.
Yıldıray Demircioğlu-Mehmet Köleoğlu of Atış Motorsports won Class 4 and the 2WD category, Sinan Soylu-Özgür Akdağ of GP Garage My Team won Class N, and Tuncer Sancaklı-Asena Sancaklı of BC Vision Motorsport won Class 5.
Burcu Çetinkaya of GMG Racing won the Female Drivers' award and Asena Sancaklı the Female Co-drivers' award.
Competing for BC Vision Motorsport, Burak Çukurova-Burak Akçay moved into the championship lead after their win in Bursa, going two points clear of their closest rivals Ümit Can Özdemir-Batuhan Memişyazıcı.
The Petrol Ofisi Maxima 2023 Turkish Rally Championship continues with the Eskişehir Rally on 10-11 June.
