Türkkan and Ülkü Lead the TPŞ

The third round of the 2017 Turkish Circuit Racing Championship was organised by the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) at Körfez Race Circuit on 16-17 September.
The weekend featured two races in each of two categories, Super and Maxi, and also included rounds of the Opel Corsa OPC Cup and the BOM Academy Cup.
In the first race of the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship Super Group, 18-year-old young talent Ali Türkkan of Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport took the win, with Çağlayan Çelik of Toksport WRT second and Galip Atar of Ülkü Motorsport third.
In the second race, Çağlayan Çelik took victory, with Ali Türkkan second and Galip Atar third. Türkkan, who is supported under TOSFED's "young talent programme", moved into the lead of the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship Super Group after this race.
In the Maxi group, the top three positions were unchanged in both races. Ümit Ülkü of Ülkü Motorsport, who began competing this season with a Nissan GT-R 35, took the win, with İsmet Toktaş of BC Vision Motorsport second in a Porsche 997 GT3 and Tamer Sancak of Ülkü Motorsport third in a Seat Leon Cupra-R. In a weekend of colourful battles, Ümit Ülkü improved his own track record, setting a new lap record with a time of 41.757.
In the Opel Corsa OPC Cup, Turgut Konukoğlu won the first race and Ramazan Kaya the second, while in the BOM Academy Cup, contested by Caterhams, Yaman Yılmaz won the first race and Güney Altuner the second.
The fourth round of the 2017 Turkish Circuit Racing Championship will be held at Izmir Ülkü Park Circuit on 28-29 October.
