TOSFED and Clubs Join Earthquake Relief Efforts

Support for earthquake survivors from institutions, organisations, NGOs and the public continues after the disaster centred on Kahramanmaraş, which also affected the surrounding provinces.The Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED), which has donated 500,000 TL to survivors, has joined forces with its 39 affiliated sports clubs to keep supporting the earthquake zones with 530 volunteers, 188 specially equipped 4x4 off-road vehicles, twelve construction machines, six catering vehicles, twenty-one trucks, six lorries and seven panel vans carrying relief supplies.The volunteers, who have been working in the field since day one, rescued 14 survivors alive from under the rubble in Kahramanmaraş, Hatay and Elbistan.TOSFED President Eren Üçlertoprağı said: "I extend my wishes for recovery to the whole of Turkey. We will do our best to stand by the earthquake survivors as much as we can during this difficult time," adding that the Federation will follow the process through to the end.We would also like to thank all the institutions, organisations and volunteers supporting the relief work. We wish God's mercy upon those who lost their lives and a swift recovery to the injured. Our condolences to the nation.
