Aydın Automobile Sports Club (AYOSK) has decided to pause the Aegean Cup, which it organises every year, this season following the earthquake that has plunged Turkey into mourning. AYOSK and Ege Asal Motorspor, which have been helping those affected since the first day of the earthquake, have announced that they are cancelling the events planned for this year and will donate the events' budget to earthquake victims.

AYOSK President and Ege Asal Motorspor founder Mithat Diker said in a statement that everyone has a responsibility towards their country: "We will pause our regional cup, which has been run regularly since 2015, this year and we will transfer the budget that would have been spent on the five-round cup to the earthquake victims. I and my colleagues on the board continue to make individual donations to AFAD and aid organisations. I pray for mercy for the citizens who lost their lives, offer condolences to their families and wish the injured a swift recovery. Once again, I extend my best wishes to our dear nation."
