TOSFED Road Safety Seminar Comes to Istanbul

The Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) Women's Committee's "How Is the Parent's Report Card?" social responsibility project for primary school pupils continued on Wednesday 4 January in Istanbul, at the Bahçeşehir Schools Sancaktepe Campus...

The project consists of seminars at selected schools in different provinces and targets primary school pupils. At this seminar, five-time Turkish Rally Champion Yağız Avcı and Turkish Historic Rally Category 1 co-driver winner Bahar Sunman gave the pupils basic information on road safety and motorsport, while a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX rally car belonging to the Neo Motorspor team was displayed at the school entrance.

After the seminar ended, report cards were handed out to pupils whose parents drive, and the pupils were asked to assess whether their mothers follow the rules when driving.

Following Bursa and Istanbul, the seminars will continue in other provinces such as Eskişehir, Izmir and Ankara until April. At the end of the series, the 20 most successful parents will receive free advanced driving technique training from expert instructors at the TOSFED Körfez Race Track.

TOSFED has already begun work to continue the project in the 2017-2018 school year in a more detailed and wider-reaching form, and is aiming to reach 5,000 primary school pupils this year.
