The Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix will return after a nine-year absence, taking place in Istanbul from 13-15 November under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye. The major event, which the country hosted seven times in total in 2005 and 2011, will be held at Istanbul Park as the 14th round of the 2020 Formula 1 World Championship.

Turkish Automobile Sports Federation President Eren Üçlertoprağı said the country's world-renowned organisational ability had played a key role in Formula 1's return, stating: "First and foremost, we offer our gratitude to our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who attached great importance to bringing Formula 1 to our country and who spared no support. Under the leadership of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, we are confident that, as the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation, we will deliver the event successfully from a sporting perspective and represent our country in the best possible way. We hope this major event proves beneficial for our country and for motorsport."
