TOSFED Launches Digital Championship

The Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) is bringing a very special event into the homes of motorsport fans. As one of the founding member countries of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) digital working group, Turkey is launching the TOSFED Digital Championship project, a result of the work of the TOSFED Digital Motorsport Commission, to keep motorsport fans entertained while they stay at home.
Backed by title sponsor Red Bull, with motorsport.com as media partner, the TOSFED Digital Championship will begin with the TOSFED Digital Circuit Racing Championship, using the PlayStation4 platform and the Gran Turismo Sport game. The second stage of the project will be the TOSFED Digital Rally Championship. The races, which will also be broadcast live on the Twitch.tv channel, will start in May.
At the end of the season, the champion of the circuit racing discipline will earn the right to represent Turkey in the digital category of the 'FIA Motorsport Games', to be held in France on 23-25 October, while the champion of the rally discipline will win a cash prize. The championship, which will be run by a professional team under the auspices of the TOSFED Sporting Commission, will be open to everyone holding a TOSFED digital motorsport licence.
TOSFED President Eren Üçlertoprağı said the project had them very excited, stating: "Digital motorsport is one of the areas that has attracted the new generation in recent years, and many of our drivers around the world have developed their skills there before stepping onto real circuits. As TOSFED, we have been working on this for a year, and in the difficult period we are going through we expect strong participation from every age group in this important event, which supports our 'stay at home' calls. We believe we will deliver a successful event together with our title sponsor Red Bull, a partner we are always happy to work with and one that gives huge support to motorsport at both driver and organiser level."
Details on entry and licences will be shared on the official TOSFED website and social media accounts.
