Sarıkamış Prepares for Rally

The 'Sarıkamış Rally', which will be organised for the first time as part of the Sarıkamış Winter Games Festival, will be run by TOSFED in cooperation with Eksi 36 Spor Kulübü and with the support of the Kars Governorship and the Sarıkamış District Governorship on 1-3 March. Run over a 227.85km route on snow and ice, the rally consists of seven special stages with a total length of 83.40km.

The event will begin on Friday 1 March with the recce between 09:00 and 14:30, followed by scrutineering between 14:00 and 17:00. The first day of the rally will get under way on Saturday 2 March with the start ceremony in front of the Kars Governorship building at 16:00. From 17:20, the 2.60km Kristal Spectator Stage will be run, bringing the first day to a close.
On Sunday 3 March the crews will start the day at 09:00 and tackle Köşk (9.00km), Şehitler (23.20km) and Soğuksu (8.20km) in turn before reaching the service park, which will be set up in the Sarıkamış Kütük Ev car park. The crews will then run the same three stages once more, before finishing the rally from 15:30 at the Grand Toprak Hotel, which is also the rally headquarters.

While the transfer of the competing crews' cars will be covered by the organising committee, each crew will also be offered three nights of free accommodation. The rally, which will be held on snow and ice as a local event this year, is planned to be the opening round of the Turkish Rally Championship in the 2020 season.
