Drivers and Officials Visit Martyrs' Memorial

Ahead of the 100th Year Rally, the second round of the Turkish Rally Championship, which was moved from Eskişehir to Çanakkale to mark the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli Campaign, drivers and officials visited the Martyrs' Memorial.
Around 120 competitors and senior officials who travelled to the city for the event crossed to the Gallipoli Peninsula by ferry, where they first posed for a group photograph in front of the statue of Corporal Seyit.
The group then toured the cemeteries and monuments in the Gallipoli Peninsula Historical Site. The competitors laid a wreath at the monument at the Martyrs' Memorial on behalf of TOSFED and observed a minute's silence, before reciting the Turkish National Anthem.
In a statement to the press, TOSFED President Metin Çeker said they were experiencing a historic moment 100 years on and were delighted to be staging this rally in Çanakkale, and thanked everyone who had contributed to and worked on the event.
