Colourful Season Finale at the Circuit

The final races of the 2015 season in the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship and the TOSFED Circuit Cup were held at the Intercity Istanbul Park Racing Circuit on 27-28 November, with 19 competitors taking part.

In the races organised by İzmir Ülkü Motorsports Club, Round 5 of the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship took place on Friday 27 November, while Round 6 of the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship and Round 5 of the TOSFED Circuit Cup were run on Saturday 28 November.

In the TOSFED Circuit Cup, contested over two races, Mehmet Yeğen took victory in Category 1 in a Peugeot 106 GTI, and with it also claimed the 2015 TOSFED Circuit Cup Category 1 title. In Category 2, where young drivers battled in VW Polo TDIs, Yağız Gedik took the win, while the races in Category 3 were not run for lack of entries, with Ahmet Mutlubaş having already been declared the winner.

At the end of Round 5 of the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship, Ümit Ülkü, driving a Porsche 997 GT3, won the first Maxi group race, with Ali Özerinç second and Bilal Saygılı third. In the second race of the day Ümit Ülkü won again, with Ahmet Mutlubaş second and Bilal Saygılı third. In the Super group, over two 10-lap races, Ümit Ülkü in a BMW 320 took one win and one second place, Galip Atar took one second place and one win, while Ahmet Mutlubaş, in a Honda Civic Type-R FN2, finished third in both races.

At the end of Round 6 of the Turkish Circuit Racing Championship, held on Sunday 29 November, Ümit Ülkü, driving a Porsche 997 GT3, won the first Maxi group race, with Ahmet Mutlubaş second and Galip Atar third. In the second race of the day Ümit Ülkü won once more, with Ahmet Mutlubaş second and Galip Atar third. In the Super group, Ümit Ülkü won the first 10-lap race with Ahmet Mutlubaş second, while in the second race Galip Atar won, ahead of Ahmet Mutlubaş and Tansel Tunca.

Following these races, İzmir-based Ümit Ülkü completed the 2015 Turkish Circuit Racing Championship as champion in both the Maxi and Super groups.
