Kocabıyık and Ülkü Crowned Circuit Racing Champions

The sixth and final round of the 2014 Turkish Circuit Racing Championship was held at Intercity Istanbul Park on 22-23 November. With 12 competitors in the Super group and nine in the Maxi group, the Intercity Istanbul Park round began on Saturday 22 November with practice and qualifying.
The Turkish Circuit Racing Championship's Maxi and Super group races on the second day of the event were run in rainy conditions and produced closely fought battles.
In Super group Race 1, Levent Kocabıyık of the Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport team, who had already secured the title ahead of this race, took the win. He was followed by Izmir-based Honda Civic Type-R driver Ahmet Mutlubaş and last year's Super group champion Kaan Gürgenç, also of Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport.
In the second Super group race, Ahmet Mutlubaş took the lead after leader Levent Kocabıyık spun and went off, and held it for 10 laps to take the victory. Last year's Super group champion Kaan Gürgenç of Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport finished second in Race 2, with Adem Çetmen of Ülkü Motorsport completing the podium in a BMW 320 TC.
In the Maxi group, where the championship was to be decided, the first race ended in victory for Cenk Ceyişakar of the Go Motorsports team, followed by Ümit Ülkü of Ülkü Motorsport and team-mate Ali Özerinç.
In the 10-lap second Maxi group race, Go Motorsports driver Cenk Ceyişakar won again in a Porsche 991 GT3, while team-mate Yadel Oskan took second and Bilal Saygılı of Ülkü Motorsport finished third. After the two title contenders, Ümit Ülkü and Ayhan Germirli, failed to finish the second race, Ümit Ülkü won the 2014 Turkish Circuit Racing Maxi Group Championship, while Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport claimed the 2014 Turkish Circuit Racing Teams' Championship.
