Çetinkaya Presents FIA Medal in Monaco

At the Monaco E-Prix, the second round of the 2025 Formula E Championship, winning driver Sébastien Buemi was honoured with the FIA President's Medal, awarded on behalf of FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem. The special medal was presented by Burcu Çetinkaya, President of the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission and a member of the FIA World Motor Sport Council.
The podium ceremony brought together prominent figures from the motorsport world. Princess Charlene of Monaco and Formula E co-founder Alejandro Agag also joined the podium and took part in presenting the other awards. The meaningful ceremony became a powerful symbol drawing attention to the representation of women in motorsport.

In an interview with a local Monaco television channel over the race weekend, Çetinkaya spoke about the projects under way and said: "It was a great honour for me to be on the podium representing the FIA President and to present the FIA President's Medal. Being alongside such distinguished figures as Princess Charlene and Alejandro Agag at this ceremony made it even more meaningful. It is very important that women are visible not only as athletes but also in official roles, and this visibility sends a strong message for social change in motorsport."
This symbolic and inclusive moment at the Formula E race reflected the sport's more equal, forward-looking vision.
