Burak Başlık Fastest at Kartepe

Kartepe Hill Climb, the second round of the 2025 AVIS Turkish Hill Climb Championship, which saw 21 competitors battle across 4 separate categories, was held by Kocaeli Automobile Sports Club (KOSK) on 3-4 May.

Staged with the support of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, Spor Toto and ICRYPEX at Bayraktepe on the Kartepe Road, the event was run over three runs on a 5.87-kilometre course.

After closely fought runs, Faruk Sayın took the win in Category 1, with Oğuz Alp Aral second and Ahmet Aydınalp third. In Category 2, Baran Demirkıran took victory, with Demir Sancaklı second and Kübra Denizci Keskin of Atış Motorspor third to complete the podium.

In Category 3, Engin Apaydın of Atış Motorsport followed up his win in Izmir with another victory in Kocaeli, while team-mates Murat Soyçopur and Tuncer Sancaklı finished second and third respectively. In Category 4, Burak Başlık of Atış Motorspor took the win. GP Garage My Team driver Cem Yalın finished second, with Şevket Çınar third.

Burak Başlık claimed the "best run of the day" award with a time of 03:15.07, while Atış Motorspor won the teams' classification. In the women's classification in Category 2, Kübra Denizci Keskin finished first and Yasemin Erikli second. In the local classification, Baran Demirkıran in Category 2 and Hasan Erdoğan in Category 3 shared the wins.

The 2025 AVIS Turkish Hill Climb Championship continues with the third round, to be organised by Eskişehir Automobile Sports Club (ESOK) at Sakarılıca on 31 May-1 June.
