Young Guns Make Their Mark in Lassa V1

Can Tolon and Yağız Avcı arrived at Körfez level on points, with Burak Çukurova just one point behind, and the expected three-way fight produced surprises. Burak Çukurova lost his windscreen and dropped down the order, while Yağız Avcı suffered a loss of engine power, and both dropped valuable points. Can Tolon won the race to take a big advantage.
Young driver Ayhancan Güven, now getting to grips with the car in his first year at VOLKICAR, set a time of 56.299 to top qualifying, and everyone began to look forward to the race with excitement. Once the race got under way, Ayhancan Güven and Can Tolon fought for the lead. Tolon used his experience to pass Ayhancan, but the young driver, unwilling to settle for second, pushed too hard, went off the track and lost position.
Ali Türkkan, who made a good start in the opening laps, waited for an opportunity right behind the pair. One of V1's new rising stars, Türkkan was not content with second place and tried to put Can Tolon under pressure, but could only finish the race fifth. The surprise of the first race was Kadir Akça, who started ninth and passed his rivals one by one to climb up to second. With Yağız Avcı finishing seventh and Burak Çukurova 12th, the balance in the trophy race began to swing in Can Tolon's favour.
The second race, in which Ayhancan Güven started 12th and Can Tolon 11th, was just as breathtaking. As the fastest names in Lassa V1 tried to pass the rivals ahead, the battles they put on delighted everyone. Burak Ertem led early on, and experienced drivers Dağhan Ünlüdoğan and Koray Muratoğlu made good starts and moved up to the lead, but as the laps went by Can Tolon and Ayhancan Güven came through from the back and took the front positions from their rivals. The closing laps were defined by the pressure Ayhancan put on Can Tolon. With Can Tolon unable to take too many risks because of the championship fight, Ayhancan took advantage of that and won the second race. Giving clear signals that he will challenge Can Tolon's throne in the future, Ayhancan finished the day third.
After the race, Can Tolon said: "Ayhancan was very quick both in qualifying and in the second race. The aim of V1 is to bring young talent to the fore anyway. With my rivals Yağız Avcı and Burak Çukurova behind, I didn't race with my usual determination and held myself back, but Ayhancan won it fair and square.
