Intense Battles at Körfez Circuit

The second round of the AVIS 2021 Turkish Circuit Racing Championship was held on 14-15 August at the TOSFED Körfez Race Circuit, organised by the Kocaeli Automobile Sports Club (KOSDER) with the support of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality.
A total of 31 drivers took part across two separate categories, Maxi and Super, with the first races run on Saturday and the second races on Sunday.
Both categories produced fierce battles, but due to a protest in the Super class, no awards were handed out in that category. Once the protest has been resolved, the results will be announced and the awards presented at round three of the season.
In the Maxi class, Turgut Konukoğlu, racing an Audi RS3 LSM TCR for Bitci Racing Team Team AMS, was first under the chequered flag in both races to leave the weekend with a double victory. In the first race, second place went to İbrahim Okyay from the same team, while Ayhan Göllü took third in a VW Scirocco TSI. In the second race on Sunday, which started with a reversed grid, Yiğit Eröge finished second in a VW Golf GTI, while young driver Süleyman Berkel completed the 20 laps in third in a Renault Sport Clio.
The third round of the AVIS 2021 Turkish Circuit Racing Championship will be held on 18-19 September at the Ülkü Park Circuit, organised by Ülkü Motorsports Club.
